Family Fun at the Fair

Last Friday we had a special day trip to the Puyallup fair.  Brian took the day off of work to hang with his girls!  We really enjoyed having him for another three day weekend!!!  My Aunt Becky, cousin Jessica, and her son Jensen were also headed to the fair so we all met up and had a good time.  We decided to make the most of our trip and get caricatures done of the girls.  They turned out adorable and we plan on having them framed and put up in their bedrooms. They are now framed and hung up in their bedrooms....(I am a little slow on blogging now that I am back to work.  Saved this as a draft last week)

Ashlyn and her caricature, she is a fairy
We somehow didn't get a pic of Kelti's being done, but she is a ballerina princess

Ashlyn and Kelti both got to go on some rides, Ashlyn for the second year and Kelti's first year on the rides.  They both had a wonderful time and Brian and I sure enjoyed watching their faces light up with excitement on the rides.

She was soooo excited....all she was talking about were the rides!!!

So crazy to see my little baby on a ride at the fair...at least she picked a cool car to ride in! :)

I L-O-V-E this one.....classic Kelti!  She is sooo into throwing he arms up when she is excited! :)

Jensen and Kelti cooling off!  They were too short for this ride :(

Kelti and Jensen holding hands...they didn't seem to enjoy this too much but neither one would let go :)

Brian and Ashlyn on the kiddy roller coaster

 Wheee!!

 Rocket Fun for Kelti!!

Last but not least the "horsey ride"...(that is Ashlyn's name for it) :)

Of course we ate some fair food and did some people watching....which seems to be very doable at the fair.  Quite an interesting crowd...

P is for Preschool

Ashlyn celebrated a next step in growing up today, she had her first day of Preschool.  She absolutely LOVED it!  Her teacher is one sweet lady and we are very pleased with her and the preschool.  In the last two days they were able to work with us in getting Ashlyn transferred to a five day a week class from the two day a week morning class she was in.  With my new job it was not going to work to have her stay in the a.m. class.

I was very happy to hear all about her day and everything that she learned today.  She made a fruit loop necklace, played duck duck goose in p.e., made two new friends, and learned a little finger rhyme!  So much fun in a few short hours!! :)

Yummy whole wheat peach pancakes for breakfast

you would never guess that this girl is excited about preschool would you?

The sign says "I am a preschooler"

Giant backpack for a little girl!

 Off to school we go!

The Tangled backpack she had to have, cute

 Love that smile!!

Someone is NOT pleased about this situation!  Poor Kelti

Ashlyn and Mrs. Gopen her preschool teacher!  She is awesome!!!

Since I was off to do a million and one things for my new job I didn't even have time to think about crying....hoping that next week goes really well since I will be leaving both of my girls....I am going to pray for strength for me and Kelti, I know Ashlyn will be just fine.

Three letter words of my current life!

Car-Job-Run-Cut

Some new things in my life right now:

CAR--We got a new to us car!  Brian got me a Crimson VW Touareg.  I love it and us three girls have really been enjoying our new ride!

JOB--I just found out yesterday that I now have a job with the Northshore School District here in Bothell.  I will be teaching literacy to mainly 5th graders four days a week in the afternoon.  I start on Tuesday, so I am doing the mad dash to figure out what I am going to do with the girls...currently I am thinking that Ashlyn will do full time pre-school and Kelti will be in daycare just for the time that I am at work.  I am really excited to be working in this district and especially this school!  It will also be nice to still have one full day off a week to do things with the girls!

RUN--I just finished my first half-marathon on Monday.  It went really well, I finished with a time of 2 hours 5 minutes.  for a 9 minute 32 second pace!  Not too bad at all.  Brian and the girls were able to come out and cheer me on which was so welcomed and nice!  We had planned ahead where they were going to be and when I came around that bend and saw them standing there my heart smiled so big!  Kelti was especially cute yelling "Mama Mama" and running toward me. :)  When I got home Brian had told them to  say "good job Mama" Kelti's came across and "JOB Mama" with a great big fist pump for emphasis, which had me cracking up!

Last but not least is my new CUT-- and color (but color is not a three letter word so it didn't fit with the cute title) :)  I had been growing my hair out, for who knows what reason, but I decided to chop it off and dye it a dark color.  I ended up going on a referral to one of the hair schools around here and I am so glad that I did....I LOVE LOVE LOVE my new hair; the cut, color, ease of getting ready.....really everything about it!

One of those days....

Do you ever have "one of those days"  I feel like this statement could take on many meanings, for me it is that I think part of my brain is MIA right now.

After a very successful trip to JoAnn Fabric I found myself flying down the freeway listening to some Mumford and sons going.......90 miles an hour......(please do not call Brian and immediately inform him of this.) I am going to blame two things, my lead foot and the fact that our new Touareg seems to be a little speed demon.

Then I was a little rattled that I was going so fast and didn't even realize it. So I popped the cruise control on and two miles down the road almost changed lanes right into another car.....good stinkin grief what is going on????

We made it to our next destination and home all in one piece and without any tickets......

Scared to find out what the third thing in this little chain of events will be.....
